The ZAZ-1102 Tavria was developed by the Zaporizhzhia Automobile Plant in Ukraine and entered mass production in 1987. It became the first widely produced front-wheel-drive vehicle of the ZAZ brand, featuring a more modern body design and fuel-efficient engine.
Designed as an affordable and practical passenger car, the Tavria offered economical operation and simple maintenance. Its compact dimensions and low running costs made it a common sight across many former Soviet republics.
Today, the ZAZ-1102 stands as an important example of late Soviet automotive engineering and the transition toward more modern vehicle designs in Eastern Europe.
