About this item
The UAZ-3962 is one of the most recognizable ambulance vehicles used throughout Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Built on the rugged UAZ off-road platform, it was specifically designed to operate in difficult conditions where conventional ambulances often could not reach.
The medical compartment is equipped with a patient stretcher, seating for medical personnel, storage cabinets for medicines and equipment, and essential tools required for emergency care and patient transport. Its practical interior layout allowed medical staff to provide treatment while en route to healthcare facilities.
The vehicle features emergency warning lights, sirens, and the distinctive Red Cross markings associated with emergency medical services. Thanks to its durable construction, high ground clearance, and four-wheel-drive system, the UAZ-3962 became an indispensable vehicle for ambulance services, particularly in rural regions and during harsh weather conditions.
This exhibit represents an important chapter in the history of emergency medical services in Latvia and demonstrates the practical engineering solutions used in medical transport during the late Soviet and early post-Soviet periods.
